Two USA tanks for the 4th of July

Fourth of July Outfit Inspo

The fourth of July has to be one of my favorite holidays! I love that it gives us all a reason to celebrate. Also, unlike some other fun holidays like Halloween or Thanksgiving, there is very little that needs to be done to prepare for Independence Day. No wrangling together costumes or preparing a large feast for anyone. For that reason, I feel like it tends to be a fairly stress-free holiday that we are all able to celebrate in whichever manner we deem appropriate. Even though many of the parades and carnivals have been canceled this year, I still plan to celebrate the fourth at a campground with friends and family. We’ll be in campers rather than tents, so it will be more of a “glamping” situation than true camping. So I definitely intend to wear a festive outfit! I still haven’t decided what I’m wearing yet, but since I have been trying on different looks, I thought that I would share some of my favorite ones!

Blue dress with a red striped headband

I will start here because initially, I thought that this was the outfit that I was actually going to wear for the 4th. After coming across a few of the other finds on the list I am not so sure now! I still think this is a super cute look though. The dress is just long and flowy enough that you can wear a pair of shorts underneath it. The clumsy 5-year-old in me really appreciates that!

Stars and stripes tank with jean shorts

Ok, this outfit is a top contender for what I will actually wear for the 4th! I think the bow details on the back of this tank are so cute! The fact that you get to wear a bralette with it makes it so comfortable too!

Stars and stripes tank with white jeans

If you’re hanging inside or in cooler weather, I don’t think that there is anything more patriotic than American flag print paired with white jeans. These jeans were the original bottoms that I paired with the tank when I tried it on, but it’s typically a little too warm here in Wisconsin for the 4th of July to be wearing jeans all day.

Grey dress with a red scrunchie

This dress is a few years old, but I wanted to throw this look in here to show that you can take pretty much any neutral colored dress and pair it with a festive hair accessory, and viola! You have a cute and not-too-over-the-top Independence Day outfit!

Striped tank, red scrunchie, and white shorts

Here is another way to wear stripes on top and white on the bottom. Again, I think that this is such a timeless, Patriotic pairing. Add the red scrunchie to take the look from classic Americana to a preppy and festive 4th of July look.

Striped tee with jean shorts and a white scrunchie

This is another look that I am sharing as inspo. The tee is a few years old, but I just wanted to show that you could take a basic striped or neutral colored tee, pair it with a pair of denim shorts and then add a festive hair accessory for a quick, simple and low-cost 4th of July look.

USA tank with jean shorts

Ok, I have to be completely honest with this one. I think that the tank is fine and it totally works with denim shorts for a cute and casual look. However, I just think that the tank wasn’t quite what I was expecting. One of the images shows a tank that looks like it has a little stretch to it. The item that I received was a basic cotton tank. I like it, but I honestly would have preferred to go to a local shop or screen printers.

There you have it! Whether you like to be super festive or more subdued, I hope you have enjoyed these looks and that one of them has inspired your fourth of July outfit! Usually, I tend to be a little more subtle with my fourth of July outfits just because I prefer pieces that I will be able to wear over and over again in several different scenarios. I actually did a round of Memorial Day looks and they were all pretty subdued. This year for the fourth, I am strongly considering something a little more festive though!

Thank you so much for reading!
